How can I help the VFDs?
Your Support is Critical.
Approximately 65-70% of firefighters in the United States are unpaid volunteers who put their lives on the line for others.
Outfitting just one firefighter with life-saving Personal Protective Equipment costs between $10,000 and $15,000.
Lack of department funding for equipment and personal care items means the volunteer firefighters pay for these items out of pocket.
Or they simply go without.
You can also donate a Care Package.
Firefighters face significant occupational health risks, including a 9% higher cancer diagnosis rate and 14% higher cancer mortality rate than the general population.
RuralFRF is dedicated to providing VFD's with personal care items to help reduce these health risks.
